As a result, hospital administrators are able to identify and take action on the paths of improvement for both financial performance and patient outcomes. Meet Our Leadership Team

Marcus Perez
Senior Executive Vice President

The word “service” defines the varied leadership roles Marcus has held in a career that spans multiple industries. A U.S. Veteran who served as a Helicopter Instructor Pilot in the US Army after graduating from the US Military Academy at West Point, Marcus truly understands the commitment and dedication to helping others succeed.

Marcus returned to Harris to serve as the EVP of Picis in 2017 after rebuilding the Government Practice at Workday, an innovative leader in Cloud-based HCM, Payroll and Finance software. Prior to Workday, Marcus was the EVP of Sales for Harris’ Public Sector and Schools Group for three years. He was also the EVP of Aptitude Solutions (now Harris Recording Solutions), leading them through the acquisition by Harris from LPS, a division of Fidelity. Marcus has led sales and operations efforts serving Federal, State, County, and City jurisdictions. His diverse career even provided him opportunities as an educator. A true “coach at heart”, Marcus will help the Harris Affinity team focus on solutions so their customers can focus on patient outcomes, not software.

Jay Adams
Executive Vice President

Jay Adams is a senior business and technology leader with more than 13 years of client-facing experience delivering professional services, technical support, and customer success management to a broad range of organizations, Adams has a proven track record of implementing business strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability, enable customer success, and build enduring organizations.

Adams came to Affinity from Picis Clinical Solutions, Inc, where he served in a multitude of roles over an 11-year tenure. As VP of Sales and Marketing, he was tasked with driving the delivery of an aggressive sales target. He was the first sales leader at Picis to consistently over-deliver month over month. Prior to his sales leadership role, Adams led the support operation of Picis. Jay Adams has served in the United States Navy, obtained his MBA, as well as a Masters of Science, Information Technology, and served as a Board Member for the New England Chapter of HIMSS.

Nikhil Bhatia
Vice President, Research and Development

An experienced product strategist, Bhatia leverages his data influenced decision-making skills to identify current market challenges using open data sets and through customer discussions, market analysts, and customer demand to ideate and develop informed software solutions. He joined Harris in 2014 and held several roles in our SmartWorks business before moving into an integration lead role where he worked directly for our CEO, Jeff Bender. Most recently, Nikhil served as Director of Product Strategy for Picis where he leveraged customer-gathered data to guide the decision-making process for new product development and enhancements.

Nikhil holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa, a Bachelor of Engineering from Memorial University, and is a licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada.

Penny Weeks
Vice President, Professional Services

As a senior executive experienced in successfully leading complex operations and long-term projects in multiple sectors, especially healthcare, Penny is a recognized thought leader who fosters client engagement to provide innovation and advancement of healthcare information management throughout the healthcare system. She has also provided strategic direction and leadership for the development and implementation of Ontario’s provincial case costing initiative. Penny earned her MBA from the University of Toronto.

Brian McCarthy
Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Brian is a sales and marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience designing and executing revenue strategies for software and innovative solutions companies ranging from start-ups to large global organizations. Brian has more than 10 years of experience and dedicated service in the healthcare sector and has spent much of his career helping organizations gain visibility and insights that empower them to make critical financial and strategic decisions.

Steven Place
Vice President, Support Services

Steven Place has been working with the Affinity Decision Support team since 2018. Steven has worked in various customer support environments for over 40 years. During this timeframe he has been involved in all aspects of application software, including development, quality assurance, installation, training and product management. Prior to joining the Decision Support Team, he spent the last 25 years exclusively in Hospital RCM Environments. He worked across multiple patient care departments throughout the hospital, coordinating all aspects of the application software experience. Responsibilities included everything from managing the installation, data conversion, report customization, training, software updates and post installation support. As the Vice President Support Services for the Affinity Decision Support team, Steven is responsible for managing the client experience including assisting with coordinating outsourcing projects, system conversions, application updates, new implementations and third party licensing. Steven has a BS from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
